Name dropping

We all know them.  The business professional that every time you mention a contact reminds you that the two are best friends.  There is a positive way to name drop.

A few posts ago I talked about being a resource for others here.  This is where name dropping can really shine.  Offering to introduce someone to a contact of yours that they mention  is a great way to increase your clout with a person.  Discussing your relationship with that contact but not being willing to introduce the two is no help to anyone.

I have been known to do this with competitors.  While this might seem counter-intuitive I find it rewarding.  You never know when someone might return the favor.

GoGrabLunch and make a new contact.  Then share that contact with others.

About Jonathan Patrick connects like-minded business professionals over face to face, one on one appointments based on each member's preferences.
