240 yesterday to 500 today; and a few updates

No that isn’t our growth curve. 240 is not the number of members we had our first week. It is close to the number of registered members we had in our first month.  Our site has now been live for two months. As of today our membership has broken through the 500 mark. And yes it feels like it took 500 steps to get to this point.

One of the things the founders discuss regularly is that our style of networking will never compete with traditional social media.  While we are fans of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more we recognize that the type of networking we facilitate, face-to-face and one-on-one, will never have the growth and adoption rate they do.  Why is that?  In person networking takes a larger commitment in time and effort.  So thank you to all our supporters for pushing us to these heights.

Now for a few updates.  Because of the growth of Knoxville we are about to roll out the site to a few other targeted cities.  Yes the site was built to work and has been active  across the world, but until now we have only focused our marketing efforts in Knoxville.  On our mind are a few cities that have begun embracing us.  A few potentials are Nashville, Charlotte, and Atlanta.  This week we have been developing some restaurant relationships so that those cities will have preferred vendors to choose from.

Lastly, we hope to be announcing a strategic partnership within the next month.  Should this partnership take place we will be able to offer a new feature that many members have asked for.  Our possible partner is world class and has already received a lot of attention in the start-up community.

Stay tuned…it’s about to get fun!
