Final thoughts on #StartAtlanta
This weekend Atlanta hosted it’s second annual StartAtlanta event. Our team decided to attend for a variety of reasons. Primarily to make contacts but also to learn some best startup practices.
The event started off Friday with 60 second pitches followed by a second round to determine the ideas that would work over the weekend to becoming live. We decided not to pitch as our site has been live for a few months.
The event was well attended and we certainly made some good contacts, particularly Allison Siavage at Siavage Law Firm who spent some time advising us on IP questions we had. We also got to spend some time with Joellyn Sargent of Brand Sprouts to get her ideas on how to market ourselves through various channels in order to scale faster. We appreciate the time they spent to help us.
Thanks also to Jason Ardell and Stephen Rosenberg for doing a great job as emcee. Lastly, thanks to Stephen Fleming of ATDC for hosting.
Unfortunately we can’t stick around for Sundays wrap-up to see who “wins”. As canned as it sounds everyone that participated is a winner, including us.
