Activities lead to accomplishments

A few days ago I talked about the need to set goals when it comes to your business networking efforts. Some might argue that end-game goals are hard to pin down. I would tend to agree, however I still believe that with those type of goals in mind it helps guide your efforts.

But goals are of little use if you don’t have activities in place that will correctly lead you down the path. So what should those activities consist of?

Your networking activities should include no more than 3-4 organizations. I recommend joining one Chamber of Commerce, one referral organization such as BNI, one civic organization like Rotary, and one group specific to your industry or niche.

Organizing your efforts in this manner increases the likelihood that you will have a well rounded list of contacts from which to leverage.
